Suzan Yozgat
Suzan Yozgat, 52, Ormond by the Sea, died February 19, 2008, at the Volusia/Flagler Hospice Center in Port Orange, Fla. She was surrounded by her family when she succumbed, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Suzy was born in Camden, N.J., but spent most of her life in Gainesville and Ormond by the Sea. She graduated from Gainesville High School and earned a BA from the University of Florida and a master's degree in library science from the University of South Florida. She worked as a librarian at City Island for more than a decade. She currently served as the acquisitions librarian at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She loved her family, reading, travel, and her dog, Dylan. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Because of her great skin, she always appeared younger than her actual age. She was predeceased by her mother, Edythe. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of thirty years, Chris Quarles, Ormond by the Sea; her father, Dr. C. A. Yozgat; her sister, Rizan; her brother, Kim, all of Gainesville; her aunt and uncle, Margaret and Herb Taylor, Jupiter; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins, in the United States and Turkey. There is no service planned. In lieu of flowers, please send a tax-exempt contribution to the Animal Rescue Group, Angels Have Whiskers, P.O. Box 274, Barberville, FL 32105. Published in the Daytona Beach News-Journal on 2/21/2008.
